UPDATE: They found my wallet! It was cleaned out, of course, but my ID's were left in the wallet, which was the MOST important thing. Thank you RamRod, (and excuse me if this is incorrect,) bartender/security Garry, Steven K for his special efforts, DaddyM for making phone calls, all the well-wishers, and to that guy that gave me $50 to coninue having fun this holiday week end! Last night (August 30), I (Dennis) was a victim of a pick pocket at RamRod bar. (Please note that I do NOT have any bad feelings toward RamRod, it's a hot and fun place!) They got my wallet, containing multiple IDs, cash, and bank identification. After living in Las Vegas for 5 years, (the pick pocket capitol of the world,) and never being a victim of such a thing, it was, to say the least, very shattering to my confidence in being aware of my surroundings.
Hopefully, this was just an isolated incident during a time when many tourists were in town in a VERY crowded bar. A couple a months ago, a friend of mine was pick pocketed in Alibi, but all they got from him was cash. It was the same scenario, an extremely crowded gay bar, where you HAVE to rub bodies to get anywhere. So, how did this happen? It's strange, as soon as I told my friends what happened, I was asked "Were you drunk?" "Are you sure you didn't drop it?" "Check all your pockets?" Yada yada yada. But the way all this went down totally strikes down all of these questions. First, I wasn't drunk. I was wearing "workout jogging pants", so I only had 2 pockets, and lastly, not 5 minutes before hand, I gave some hot daddy my card, from my wallet, and then (as I tend to do) had my hand in my pocket with my wallet. My friend and I decided to do a "whore tour", in which you have to SQUEEZE between people. That is when my hands came out of my pockets, we circled the property, with many hot men pinching, groping, etc., and when we completed the circle, my wallet was gone. Not even my friend who was right behind me, saw anything, since when you go through a crowd like this, your line of vision is at shoulder height, and this bar is dark. What sucks is that I was having one of the best times of my life in a gay bar, and at that moment, it was totally erased! Don't let this happen to you. When I go to buy a new wallet, it will be one with a CHAIN that hooks to a belt loop. I will never where light/loose fitting pants in a crowded bar. I will only carry the bare minimum in my wallet. I'm curious if anyone else locally has been a victim. If you have been pick pocketed in the past year, I'd like to hear your story! Email me by clicking here !
