An Art/Photo Exhibit in Honor of
World AIDS Day
Miami Beach Community Health Center, in
conjunction with ArtsUnited, invites artists
and photographers to show the depth of their
thoughts and feelings as it relates to
HIV/AIDS. Paintings, sculptures and
photographs will depict how this disease has
changed the lives of so many around the
world. This juried exhibit, shown in Fort
Lauderdale and Miami during World AIDS
Day on December 1, 2008 will also include
several panels of The NAMES Project
Foundation AIDS Memorial Quilt. The exhibit
will be shown at The Galleria at Fort
Lauderdale, November 24to December 14,
and in Miami at the Harvey W.Seeds Post 29
American Legion, December 1-14. For

the GLCC, and the Fort Lauderdale
International Film Festival, for the Florida
Premiere Documentary of SqueezeBox! and a
Kick-Off Party for FLIFF's GLBT Film Series.
Like the weekly pansexual party it pays tribute
to, SqueezeBox! immortalizes the no-holds-barred,
anything-goes attitude that its denizens embodied.
With cameo appearances by John Cameron
Mitchell, Jayne County, Bob Gruen, Anthony
Hegarty, Debbie Harry, and John Waters, the
legendary club where the Toilet Boys and Hedwig
were born gets the ultimate rock-and-roll tribute.
The fun starts at 6:00 pm with food, friends, and
cash bar, and the film starts at 7pm, The party is
free and the Film is $5; part of ArtsUnited's.

third annual Ribbons for the Children Art
Program. The program is a benefit for the
Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center
(CDTC) in Fort Lauderdale. The CDTC treats
pediatric AIDS patients as well as many other
illnesses effecting children.

Cute teen Karsten Zenker, is forced to spend
his holiday driving his father, a traveling
ladies' fashion salesman, around to sales
meetings where meets Steven, who immediately
captures the boy's heart. But Karsten doesn't
know that Steven is Dad's chief rival, Steven
doesn't know that Karsten is Wolfgang's son,
and Wolfgang doesn't seem to know much of
anything. In German with English subtitles.
